Managers - Occupations list

SOL - Managers & Administrators - Australian Migration Requirements

Please read the qualifying criteria before moving on to the occupations

Managers and Administrators listed on this page may apply for skilled migration to Australia.

MANAGERS AND ADMINISTRATORS head government, legislative, industrial, commercial, agricultural and other establishments, or departments within these organisations. They determine the policy of the organisation or department, and direct its functioning, through other managers, and coordinate economic, social, technical, legal and other policies.

All occupations in this major group have a level of skill commensurate with the equivalent of an Australian bachelor degree or higher qualification. Managers must have at least 5 years experience in senior management.

Tasks performed by Managers and Administrators typically include formulating, administering and reviewing the policy and legislation which determine the direction to be taken by the organisation they head; controlling, directing and participating in the activities of that organisation personally and through a hierarchy of managers and supervisors; establishing operational and administrative procedures; and controlling the selection of senior staff and the allocation of resources.

Specific occupation requirements

To be successfully assessed as a manager is not easy, and most likely the category most often failed by applicants.

Managers must have other managers reporting to them, and must generally be responsible for policy decisions and company direction to be approved

Typically, small business (under 15 staff) managers are not approved but there are many other potential occupations for people in this category
